The room was a good size, nicely decorated. The Chinese restaurant and main breakfast buffet were good. This hotel is not far from Dali Ancient town and in between the new city and the old town. It is perched up on a hillside with a lovely view over the lake. Good value and comfortable but not what I was expecting. I arrived the last week of June. The water features were not working and looked terrible- nothing like the photos. There was only two out of the stated four restaurants open. Very few staff spoke English- I needed a lot of support from my Chinese friends. I wasn't feeling well and tried to order breakfast to my room- not possible before 11am. I managed to order room service once- very basic. Not what you would expect from a Hilton hotel. The hotel was quite empty- I had asked for an upgrade option and it wasn't provided. The terrace had a nice view but was right under a huge air vent which made the noise pollution almost unbearable. Not a successful stay- this could have been so much nicer. The rooms are accessed from outdoor hallways open to the elements- on one very windy night the door rattled and the wind whistled continuously under the door frame keeping me awake.

"review_text": "Good Gym, large rooms. I have stayed here many times, but this past visit was bad. The elevators and hallways are dirty, and upon checking in, they told me of an added eight-dollar charge to park a car, which is ridiculous, they put me in a disabled room with a shower curtain that encouraged a wet floor I had to mop up with my spare towel. I had three crappy pillows on a king-size bed that were small and had no filling. On top of that, as with many hotel chains, they only clean the room every other day. The provided kitchen in the room is nice, but there were no plates. And the breakfast offering has dwindled down to a few random snacks, green bananas and a waffle maker.",

This almost turned us off Hilton hotels for the future - several things in very poor condition (for example, bathroom door could not really be closed because the handle was falling off, as was the toilet roll holder). The place felt run-down. Management should send in a team to conduct a thorough review.",

Amenities were great too. I have no complaints about this hotel or the room I stayed in. My only complaint about my room was that the shower was cold on the first day and luke-warm on the second day after I told front desk. They said they increased the temperature but would have liked my shower to be hotter. Otherwise no other complaints.",

"review_text": "Nothing. Last year, I stayed a weekend here and my room wasn’t ready until 7:30 pm on the day of check-in. I tried again this year because of the location- and this time, my room was infested with roaches. I called the front desk at 11 pm on our first night and the lady at the desk was rude, said that maintenance clocks out at 10 and that they would make a note in my folio. When I asked what I was supposed to do, she just repeated that she made a note and said she could come and kill them for me if I really needed someone to do that. No other room was offered at the hotel, no other location was offered, no explanation was offered as to why nothing was offered (for example: there are no other rooms, but here’s what we can do…). I just told her that I would wake my babies and check out. I packed my two babies up, all of our stuff and checked out at the front desk. She greeted me by saying, “I comped your room- I don’t know what else you want me to do.” At this point, I said nothing and walked out with my 2 crying babies and all of our stuff with zero help and no apologies, only an overall feeling that I had inconvenienced HER. Worse experience of my life in any hotel.",

There was no security that I could see, I was never asked for my license number, soI can't understand why I was charged a fee for a place I had parked in before with out a fee and nothing had changed. Also I was charged a $100 non refundable pet fee. My dog stayed with me never left in the room alone. Never barked or soiled the motel. The warmer was broke so the breakfast was inadequate. Although I've stayed here several times before and enjoyed it, I won't be back. There really was a feeling of being ripped off.",
